The Winter Semester 2023 kicked off with the 12th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems: Technology and Applications (IEEE IDAACS 2023). The conference was organised under the umbrella of IEEE – the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, which is the world’s largest professional organisation for engineers and scientists in the fields of computer science, electrical engineering and information technology.
Taking place from 7th until 9th of September 2023 the hybrid conference was hosted by Fachhochschule Dortmund and organized by the team from IDiAL in a collaboration with the conference founder and the Chairman Anatoliy Sachenko and his team from West Ukrainian National University from Ternopil, Ukraine – the long-term Ukrainian partner of the IDiAL.
The Ruhr Valley has been the industrial heartland of Germany, steel and coal shaped the face of the cities. Dortmund was one of the largest steel production sites, same as Bochum, Herne and Gelsenkirchen. Today, the region has been transformed into a technology and innovation hub with many universities and research institutes. And hosting the IEEE IDAACS 2023 in Dortmund gave the participants the opportunity to experience the blend of old, heavy industries and modern, innovative ideas and business. All the presented papers are published in the prestigious IEEE Xplore: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/conhome/10348627/proceeding
The conference was a great success with a record number of the participants (264 participants: 150 on-site participants and 114 online) from various countries and continents. Nearly 115 participants were Ukrainian scientific researches and almost 30 of them managed to take part on-site and came to Dortmund during the restrictions and limitation of travel due to the war situation in Ukraine.
